HOW TO MEASURE

  • Chest - Measure around the fullest part of the chest with your arms down. Usually just under the pits.
  • Waist - Measure around the narrowest part of the waist. Your waist is at the small of the back or where your body bends if you lean to the side.
  • Arm Length - Measure from the side of your neck to wrist fold, over the top of your arm.

While all of their garments are sized to these measurements, you will find that the cut on jackets designed for use in more extreme environments will be slightly more generous in the expectation that these designs will be used with additional/thicker mid-layers. If you plan on using a jacket like this with fewer layers beneath it, please keep this in mind when selecting your size.

SLIM FIT FOR GARMENTS

RAB's Slim Fit garments are designed to be worn closer to the body or over layers such as base-layers and light mid-layers. Slim fit garments are close fitting for maximum performance when moving dynamically.

EXPEDITION FIT FOR GARMENTS

Expedition garments are designed to be worn in colder conditions over more layers of clothing than their other fits and are oversized slightly to allow for this.

Inspired by the challenges of big wall climbing, the Borealis Jacket is designed to be the lightest softshell, blending wind resistance, exceptional breathability, and a compact pack size. Ideal for climbers, it performs equally well on a breezy crag or at great heights on the climbing wall.

The Borealis Jacket is crafted from lightweight, stretchy Matrix™ fabric, offering unrestricted freedom of movement. It is specifically designed for long multi-pitch routes where weather conditions can fluctuate. Features such as the YKK® front zip with chin guard and a half hem drawcord ensure adaptability, providing protection from the wind as conditions change. The jacket is equipped with two YKK® zipped, mesh-lined Napoleon chest pockets, which offer easy access to essentials while wearing a harness.

As the lightest softshell jacket, the Borealis Jacket combines wind resistance and high breathability, making it an essential piece of gear that packs into a small space.
