Description
Description
The delta shape was developed as a result of the continuous advancement of webbing-fitted systems. It is designed to perfectly support webbing by securing it onto its lower flat section.
Maillon Rapide quick links, used as connectors in personal protective equipment (PPE), are identified by a specific marking in accordance with the following European standards:
- EN 362: 2004 standard – Industrial PPE: Fall arrest systems, work restraint, work positioning, and rope access.
- EN 12275: 2013 standard – Mountaineering PPE: Rock climbing, climbing walls, caving, and canyoning.
The breaking strength, measured in kilonewtons (kN), is specified on Péguet Maillon Rapide quick links intended for PPE applications. The breaking strength must not fall below 25 kN.
When used in PPE, the breaking strength etched onto the Maillon Rapide quick links clearly indicates the maximum permissible load.
The product range for PPE in mountaineering also displays the U.I.A.A. label, which is issued by the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation.
In accordance with legislation, a user instruction must be provided with each Maillon Rapide quick link that meets the EN 362 and EN 12275 standards. These quick links must be sold or used as connectors when fitted to PPE.
